Every day, we receive cards and letters of thanks from meal clients. Some of them are displayed here on a wall in our kitchen. They are touching testimonials to our supporters’ generosity.

Our New Kitchen Opens Thanks to Our Supporters

Guests enjoy lunch in our 16,500 square foot kitchen, which opened in 2004. Our new kitchen enables us to keep up with the growing needs of our program.

Carla
Carla was the recipient of our 10 millionth meal in 1999. She depended on St. Vincent due to an eye condition that prevented her from driving or cooking.  Today Carla still receives meals.  In fact, the day before Thanksgiving, Carla received her meal from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, his wife Maria Shriver and their son Christopher.

Mr. Kim
Mr. Kim, who suffers from heart problems and relies on our meals says, “I am so grateful for the blessing of these meals. I would starve if I didn’t have this food.”

 



Lola
The value of our services goes far beyond meals. Our meal-delivery runners check that each of our clients is okay. Lola, a weekend supervisor/meal runner, helped to stop a robbery in progress during one of her visits.
